My messages to inform people of their roles

This was what my messages were like to inform people that they were successful from the auditions
Hi .......... Just messaging to say thank you for attending our audition, if you are still interested we would like to offer you one of the main roles in our advert.
If you are interested could you please confirm, If you available to make the shoot on Wednesday the 12th November.

This took a lot of time and effort to make sure everyone was contacted and confirmed.

After they confirmed I stayed in contact with everyone just to keep them happy and to make sure that everyone would run smoothly on the day, as one of two producers we decided to split the list and stay in contact with our list.

So we did start with creating two videos for the Police, this was to be an advert advertising an anonymous number that you can call if you have a crime to report.

Each group came up with 2 subjects, one being domestic violence and the other a video on teenage violence.


After a few weeks we decided it might be a little safer to just run with one video so we can donate all our time and skills and be able to give it 100%.

We came up with our script and then fine tuned it making it into our final video, we made storyboards and the sound crew went over what would be needed of them, and props and wardrobe cut down to a list of essentials that would be needed for the day.

We started with the shooting date of the 5th although had to move it back to the 12th as we were running out of time and were still worried about been ready on time.

We shot on the 12th and all turned up working really well as a team on the day to produce the best we could do.

What I most enjoyed would have to be the auditions , editing and the experience, I am very grateful that I had the chance to be apart of something like this advert to get a little look into what really goes on in making an ad.

I will forever appreciate ads a little more now that I know how much work goes into them.

And just say Wow !

Producers you have a very important role to play, for awhile I felt like if I failed at my position the whole thing wouldn't of worked, it was a lot of pressure trying to get everyone into one place and at the right time.

And although its over it was fun and I am pretty sure the final result has been a positive one.

So I have all the video footage and have been playing around with the colour's and clips I decided I wouldn't use any dialogue and just go with a music clip so that teenagers could relate to it a little better.

I cut up the video and tried to make it in to something that I thought younger people could relate too, And then I thought maybe something like a memory or kind of dream scene would look good so I rearranged the video clips in to a kind of backward sequence.

How ever when I showed children around the age that we were trying to target they didn't quite understand. So I brought it back and re cut the order of some scenes so it would make more sense.

And thats a wrap


All video work is completed it is now down to editing, which is hours of cutting, colouring and fine tuning in to a 2min master piece I guess the main and most Important thing is that at the end of the day as long as our message gets across we have done our jobs.
If it can help just one person or gets the chance to the hours and hours of prep work all would of been worth it.

Call Sheets




As producer I have had to make some executive calls with time call outs and have found that everything so far has been running smoothly.

Everyone has played their part and I am hoping that everything pulls together tomorrow.

Monday 



Monday we went over call sheets so this is addresses of the locations where and what time actors are needed, this contains who will be playing who and which location they will be required to attend.
As Producer I also had to make sure actors had transport what to bring with them and what not to wear, all actors were very helpful and are all looking forward to shooting the commercial.

So went over the script one more time breaking down the time line and what was going to happen with filming time, and where and when people were going to be needed, we decided as producers it would be a good idea to split the list and take on half each. 
All actors have been contacted and confirmed their positions within the advert.





Location Colours



Both locations set and locked down, everything is all prepared and the last of the props are been brought today, both houses have a good and easy colour scheme so it should be alright to match up the colours of the props.




I thought that these colour schemes went best with the colours we had to work with.

So we have held our auditions although alot of work it was well worth it, As producers we have managed to cast our advertisement and advised the successful applicants with there roles.
I think we have cast the parts really well the reason why I decided to go with the people I did was all down to personality really.
I went with the people who could act the most natural.

I thought I would look online to get some ideas for the food catering on the day, as we had no ideas on what we are going to serve to our performers.

So far all we have thought of is Curry .

I also spoke to an actor who told me what kind of food they actually have on set, usually for breakfast they have either wraps with bacon and scrambled eggs, with cereals and a range of fruits.
Lunch it depends all though I was thinking somewhere along the lines of a selection of meats eg:ham,chicken,deli meats and coleslaw and a range of breads or a range of mixed salads.
For dinner we should just go with curry.

Storyboarding Tutorial - Extended Version



Thought I would blog a storyboard as this is what we have been going over at the moment , the reason we use storyboarding is to give the camera crew direction in the type of shot you want to achieve and you don't go into shooting day with no direction, you want the audience to be able to relate to each moment.

I really like the close up camera work on this video and thought the colour work brought the whole video together, the use of blues and red made the video come together, and I really liked the reflection of light on the face.

I thought the lighting made you feel in the moment and could see all the work put in to this video.

My Job within our Production




My position as Producer / Production Manager starts with communication within everyone Internal and External, Sam and I are in charge of the budget and are the go to's when something is to be purchased for production.


We must communicate with Wardrobe, Actors, Cinematography, Director, Sound Crew, Production crew.

So I just gained the position of Producer/Production Manager with Sam together we have to provide schedules for the advertisement, and today we decided we will no longer be working with domestic violence, we will only be concentrating on one ad and focusing on teen age sexual violence.

So today I found out that we are just going to run with one ad as we decided it would be better if everyone was working on just the one advert, so we could donate 100% of our time to one and give it our all. So we will not be making a ad for domestic violence we are going to go with Teen age rape and been able to call a anonymous number if you know someone needs help and you need to report a crime. I have researched alot on domestic violence although also did research on video making and party scenes the best I came up with so far were in music videos.


Not sure what the writing says but I dont think you need to know the message is pretty clear from the picture.

So we were thinking along the lines of a bruised and battered child turning into a adult talking to the camera audience, saying this is what happened to me because no body helped me the bruising heals and shows that it only took one person to in able the person to heal?

If Women's Roles In Ads Were Played By Men

Thought this was funny although couldnt really use it as wouldnt want to promote violence against males and its abit demoralising for both sexes. I just liked the split screen look and thought we could have one girl on one side that shows abuse and the other side shows no abuse??

One of the most hit adverts was this video #LikeAGirl I am not surprised well thought out concept and well made, I would really like to think about relating something like this to our domestic violence campaign. I think it would bring the message straight to the people and be relatable to the many.

Brainstorming

Brainstorming

For todays class We ran our ideas past each other coming up with reasons to stay away from certain areas and subjects that needed  to be spoken about.
We analysed each suggestion and came up with a few ideas loosly based around domestic violence just because we thought it was a subject that needed to spoken about, I really liked the idea of using make up to show and heal bruising , I like the idea of confronting the audience and bringing them a voice, I also felt in someone we should have a cry for help almost a silent cry to gain peoples attention to this subject.
